Landon Sage
Where Are They Now? | April 2025 | By Samantha Henderson

Meet Landon Sage,
An Alumni Member from the Mount Nebo FFA Chapter. Landon currently works as a salesman for his family’s tractor dealership, Hobby Tractors and Equipment. They have two locations – Pleasant Grove, Utah and Roosevelt, Utah.

Helping with the family business was not always Landon’s plan. He joined FFA to learn about welding, ag mechanics, and farming. After high school, Landon attempted Machining School and ended up dropping out. His dad then hired him to sell tractors and Landon has loved it ever since.
Landon says, “When we are on the wrong path, life seems to direct us back to our roots of where we really belong. I grew up driving tractors, going to fairs and rodeos to help run a booth and I have always loved tractors. I am so blessed that things with machining school did not work out. Tractor blood runs through my veins. Now I am helping build a business that I can leave for my kids.” Landon helped grow his family’s dealership to a Platinum dealer with TYM/Branson Tractors. They will be receiving this award at the next TYM dealer meeting.
Landon’s favorite part of being a salesman is getting to meet amazing new people every day and build a relationship for years to come. He also gets to drive tractors every day, operate forklifts, drive trucks, and pull trailers. “I am like a kid in a toy store! Boys don’t grow up; their toys just get bigger.”
Landon has a lot of opportunities to travel with his job.
- Working a booth with Branson Tractors at the World Ag Expo in Tulare, California.
- Touring the Branson Tractors Headquarters/Assembly Facility in Rome, Georgia.
- Touring the TYM Tractors Caldwell, Texas Assembly Warehouse.
- Touring the Bad Boy Mowers Headquarters/Manufacturing in Batesville, Arkansas.
- Plus, all the fun annual dealer meetings around the country.
Landon’s been able to take his family with him on some of these trips. They’ve been able to stay at resorts and popular destinations all paid for by the manufacturers. He says, “Is it really work when you get to have this much fun?”
FFA influenced Landon to work in the Agriculture Industry. He learned about the hard work required to run a farm. He learned the struggles to operate a farm or ranch, and it made him want to help. He works to help farmers and ranchers get the equipment they need at a great deal. Landon says, “I love being able to offer customers a machine that weighs more and lifts more for thousands of dollars less than the competition.”
Landon also developed leadership skills from FFA. He learned how to work as a team and the importance of delegating tasks. He uses these skills daily as he helps run two stores and leads of team of salesmen and technicians.
Landon is proud to continue supporting FFA as an Alumni Member. As a dealership they donate to FFA Chapters and sponsor FFA members as they excel in their passions. They are always willing to donate or help!
Landon’s advice to FFA members is to, “Get as involved as you can be. Compete in every contest. Attend every event. Work hard and make sure you go to the State and National Conventions. It is an experience that will motivate and push you to be a better version of yourself! FFA will give you life skills that other boring classes in high school won't. You will make lifelong friends from FFA. I still talk to my high school FFA friends today.”
