Chase Westwood

Where Are They Now? | February 2025 | By Samantha Henderson

Meet Chase Westwood,

A former Dixie FFA Member and Chapter President, who works at Farm Bureau Financial Services, which is the insurance side of the Utah Farm Bureau Federation. Chase works as a Sr. Account Executive (fancy way of saying "Sales Associate") and the Sales Team Manager for his office.

Chase covers everything from interviewing, hiring new employees, training them, and selling auto, home, life, commercial, and farm & ranch insurance policies. Our mission at Farm Bureau is to Protect Livelihoods and Futures. Chase “takes a lot of pride in that.”

Chase grew up on a mink ranch in Highland, Utah and spent a lot of time at his Grandparent's dry farm in Cedar Valley, Utah. His family moved to St. George when he was 14 and this is where Chase found FFA.

Chase always wanted to be a part of agriculture where he was involved in it at a

younger age. FFA offered him a way back to agriculture.

Chase participated in the Agricultural Mechanics CDE and placed 2nd high individual at State. Chase also participated in Agricultural Issues and Parliamentary Procedure, where he was fortunate to go to Nationals for both.

These contests taught him things he’s used throughout his life. “Ag Mechanics gave me a start to get some confidence in being able to fix my own vehicles and be more mechanically inclined.  Ag Issues and Parliamentary taught me a lot about how meetings run and leadership.”

After high school, Chase planned to pursue a career as a veterinarian. That’s what brought him to Logan, Utah. Chase then switched his major to Ag Business, where he was introduced to Bruce Jones, the Farm Bureau Agent he now works for. Chase says, “Never did I dream I would be selling insurance for a living. I came to realize, I really like helping people and I like being in the ag industry. With Farm Bureau, I get to do both.”

While at school, Chase met his wife, Alysha. They were married in 2014 and have made Cache Valley their home. They have three boys, Callin (8), Bridger (5), and Jaxon (1). Chase says, “FFA had a lasting impression on my life that has continued on to my kids.”

Through FFA Chase made a lot of great connections and learned a lot of skills that have helped him grow his business, work with people, and raise his family. “The skills you learn will reach far and beyond what sports or anything else will. It teaches you how to be a good person, be a leader, and an example. It will open doors, and you will create lifelong friendships that will last a lifetime.”

Chase enjoys the people he works with and what they do. “We sell protection for your assets and your life and then I get to be there to help someone on their worst day. It makes me have a sense of purpose. I've been blessed to have some great clients who have also become some great friends!”

Chase gives back to Utah FFA by serving as a judge for Leadership and Career Development Events.
