Bre Jackson
Where Are They Now? | January 2025 | By Samantha Henderson
Meet Bre (Harding) Jackson,
Former Maple Mountain FFA member and 2020-2021 Utah FFA State Secretary. Bre is now the owner and floral designer for Bre’s Flowers.
From a young age, Bre has always loved the outdoors, animals, and the agricultural industry & lifestyle. As a freshman in high school, she enrolled in an Animal & Agricultural Science class.

“Halfway through the school year I told my mom I was going to drop out of the class for the next semester because I wasn’t a “farm kid” like everyone else. I walked into class the next day to my FFA advisor telling me I couldn’t drop out of her class. She told me that even though I didn’t come from a farming background, I had a place in the FFA. She gave me the confidence I needed to chase after the things I loved and dreamed about. After that, I never hesitated to put an ag class in my school schedule or sign up for a contest or event.”
When Bre enrolled in a Floriculture class in High School, she had no idea floral design would become such a huge part of her life.
Bre’s mom would purchase an arrangement from Bre’s high school floral class each month. Her mom would have Bre deliver it to one of the elderly widows in their neighborhood.
“It was in these tender moments I learned the joy and love flowers could hold. From weddings, to funerals, to a simple bouquet, each flower holds the hope and love that someone is looking for. Being able to provide these moments is my favorite part of being a florist.”

In FFA Bre developed a passion for floriculture and public speaking.
One of the most influential parts of her FFA experience was the opportunity to compete in the Extemporaneous Public Speaking LDE. Bre enjoyed the thrill of competition, but this contest was about so much more. She prepared by speaking to legislators, agriculturalists, scientists, school board members, and her own peers. She immersed herself in learning about every aspect of agriculture and why it mattered.
The experiences she gained while preparing for her contest, along with the skills she developed in becoming comfortable and proficient in public speaking, remain valuable assets in her life to this day.

Now Bre gives back to members in FFA by helping them with their SAE projects. She has mentored aspiring florists, assisted in training show pigs, and offered advice on start and building a business.

Bre is also a part of the Utah FFA State Convention Staff. She helps the State Officers with their scripts, Retiring Addresses, and so much more! If you get to walk across the stage at State Convention, you’ll see Bre backstage. We are grateful for her dedication and service to Utah FFA.
Bre says that some of her most treasured friendships (and her husband) are all a result of her time in the FFA. If you’re thinking about join FFA, take the leap.
“No matter your background, hobbies, or future career, the FFA has something to offer you. More importantly, the FFA needs you. We need agriculturalists who think differently, try new ideas, and are diverse. You have a place in the FFA. It may not seem like it during high school, but the time you spend as an FFA member is very brief and very valuable. The FFA will change your life, if you just give it a chance.”
